Hey everyone … so I’m not going to take up too much time today as I have a lot of stuff to be getting back to … but I did want to share some pictures from last weekend … Saturday morning Perry and I along with our friend Paul who was over visiting us headed over to Budaiya park where on the weekends they have a Farmers Market …
We had never been before but I had been wanting to go since we moved here … just hadn’t made it for one reason or another … anyway we headed over there in the morning expecting a similar type of thing that we had experienced before in Dubai …
Spotted this lady making and selling Crocheted items …
In fact it was very different … it felt alot more authentic as a farmers market … less of the whole artisan/organic stuff and more just good old fashioned locally grown veggies … being sold by local farmers … and people were out in droves buying lots of stuff to stock up for the week …
You could even borrow trolleys to go food shopping … people were literally leaving with trolley loads of vegetables!
Lots of fresh fruit and colourful veggies on offer … including purple peppers, mulberries (my Mum’s favourite) and purple sprouting broccoli …
We had a good time walking around and seeing what was on offer … and had we been better prepared we’d have had a list of things we needed and could have gotten our weekly veggies at the same time …
Not to mention the massive goose eggs …
After wandering the market we headed back to the food court area … there was a range of places to get ready made food from for breakfast … Paul and I settled on getting scrambled eggs with veggies …
It was really good … although I have to say its the first time I’ve seen someone cook flamingΒ eggs …
I even bumped into an old school friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in over 10 years … we were in 6th form together back in London … so it was really lovely to bump into her so randomly …
All in all we had a lovely morning and it was a great way to start our day …
That is it for this week … thanks for tuning in …
Till next time …

I want few stuff from this market!! We need to talk π Seriously !! π
How amazing and lovely to find an old friend!! π
I knew she had married a Bahraini guy but I didn’t know she was in Bahrain at the time … She’d only had a baby two months ago so I was even more surprised to see here
Azizam hamishe shad o khandan bashi che parke ghashangi ,che atefaghe jaleb hamkelasetu onja dedi See you soon
I have never seen purple bell peppers before – would probably look good in a salad π
Wow! Those purple peppers look crazy! And how awesome to run into an old school friend! And flaming omelette? Did it taste any Γ€hm burned?
haha … yeah the purple peppers are fun … I’ve had them before and they turn green once cooked … alot like purple sprouting broccoli … I knew that friend had married a Bahraini guy but I didn’t know she was in Bahrain at the moment so it was really strange hearing my name being called across the park … π
What? They turn green when cooked? This is strange! I’ll talk to my veggie farmer next time and ask him about weather I can get some in berlin! Have to try !!!
sounds good π
