Knitting Adventures … Perry’s Knitted Hat & Scarf Set …

Hey everyone … so as part of my 29 BEFORE 29 challenge I had set myself the task of knitting something for Perry … and I did … as part of his Christmas Present I made him this Hat and Scarf set …

He can be incredibly fussy about his clothes and stuff which is fine … I know I am too sometimes … but this does make it hard for me to pick something to make for him … I usually will find quite a few things I like for him or pick out colours of yarn I like for him but usually he’s not the biggest fan of some of my choices … so I figured the best chance I’ll have at making him something he will actually wear is have him make the decisions …

So I laid out my stash of Yarn and had him pick out a couple colours he liked together … I then also got him to search Ravelry and Pick out a few patterns he liked … then from that I did the rest …

One of the patterns he selected was this BOY KNITTER scarf … So I ended up going with that in the grey and Purple he chose … its simply a seed stitch scarf with a slip stitch detail creating the columns …

It was actually quite a fun scarf to knit … I’m not the biggest fan of knitting scarves as I feel it’s quite repetitive for a very long time …

But this one was interesting enough that it kept my interest to the end … My plan was to give this to him for early Christmas when we celebrated with his family … which is what I did … as I want him to have it in time for our trip to Iceland in a couple weeks …

So I figured that even though he doesn’t really wear hats … since Iceland will be really quite cold he may actually wear one this time …

I ended up making one up to match the scarf … after the ribbed edging I just adapted the seed and slip stitched pattern of the scarf to work for the hat and it actually worked out much better than I had expected it to …
