Dune Buggy’s on the Sand Dunes … Fossil Rock Desert …

Hey everyone … so while Paul and Rachel were over we decided to head out into the desert and take a ride on the dunes in a couple of Dune Buggies … it was great for us cause it was something Perry and I had been wanting to do … and it’s even on my 29 BEFORE 29 list … but also something Paul and Rachel were excited to try too …

We paired up in the buggies with Perry and I in one and Paul and Rachel in the other … it was a lot of fun … very sandy but generally a great laugh …

We did manage to get stuck quite early on in the ride … Perry also managed to give us our first sand shower of the day too … thankfully though we had a rescue car with us the whole time so it wasn’t long before we were going again …

Paul and Rachel got stuck as well although I didn’t get any pictures of that … it was a lot of fun going up and down the dunes in the cars … however I wasn’t so enthusiastic about being covered in sand so regularly …

We eventually stopped at a place by a massive rock formation known as Camel Rock as its meant to resemble a camel … it was at this point that we noticed on of the tyres on our buggy had come off the rim …

So we took a break here to take some pictures and stretch our legs while the tyre was fixed up …

It wasn’t long before we got going again and it soon enough Perry and I managed to get stuck on the side of a dune again …

Again we had another massive sand shower … except this time it mostly got me … I think we were carrying around half the dune with us after wards …

Anyway we finally got going for the final time and made our way back to where we started off from …

We even passed a group of Camels on our way back to drop off the buggies …

All in all it was a great morning out in the desert … it was hot and sticky and sandy but so much fun …

We also filmed the whole thing on our Go Pro although it was strapped to Perry’s chest the whole time … Paul and Rachel also filmed the ride on their camera attached to their buggy … so the video above is a mix of the two sets of footage highlighting some of the funniest parts of the drive … namely getting stuck … getting showered in sand … and Rachel threatening to leave Paul if he flipped the car …
