Lunch At The Family Bagh … Shiraz, Iran …

_MG_1421-1After our trip to PERSEPOLIS in the morning we were all pretty knackered and hungry … we headed back towards Shiraz and met up with the rest of the family at one of my Great Uncle’s Bagh’s … their own little plot of land / garden … this one has a small room, an outdoor seating area / kitchen and lots of different fruit trees …

A few of our family members have Bagh’s of their own and we decided to go to this one for lunch that day as it was on our way back to Shiraz anyway … When we got there my Cousin Navid, his wife, my Uncle Ghasem, Auntie Marzieh and Grandparents were already there getting ready for lunch …

While food was getting ready we sliced up some watermelon to eat in the mean time with my Grandparents …

I usually wait to scrape the ends of the watermelon from the rind cause I can’t be bothered to deal with the seeds …

_MG_1408-1But my Granddad put me to shame … he clearly has had much more practice at this than me …

Perry wanted to help out … but no one would let him in the kitchen so he was left to keep the flies off the food …

Lots of yummy food on the BBQ …

Perry probably ended up waving off flies for over 30mins before we figured out how to turn on the overhead fans …

My Mum enjoyed the swings … and I had a little go myself after …

(please ignore the weird hair thing going on above)

_MG_1501-1Lunch was a pretty amazing array of delicious BBQ’d chicken … rice and all the other loveliness that comes with Iranian food …

_MG_1510-1Even the local cats came to join us for some lunch … After food was eaten and everything was cleared up … everyone kind of went off in different directions to have their nap … Perry and I just slept on the sofas where we’d had lunch … after a couple hours sleep we all got up and headed out again for the evening … but I’ll be sharing those later …

_MG_1530-1That is it for this post …

Till next time …
