Hey everyone … so it’s been a pretty busy few days … lots of things going on this last week … I was supposed to be going off-roading for the day on Friday but there ended up being a problem with my friend’s car with the passenger side seat-belt … so that ended up being a no go this time … which is a shame but Sarah goes so frequently I’m sure I can go another time …
In the end we didn’t do much on Friday … we stayed home during the day and Perry had some work to do … as I was supposed to be out for the day he assumed he had time to get on with his stuff … but he did book a table at a Mexican restaurant called MAYA in Dubai Marina for us to try out … I’m a big fan of Mexican food … we both are … so its always great to try somewhere new … the restaurant is part of the Le Meridien hotel in the Marina … and the food was pretty amazing … we were so stuffed of yummy food and margaritas that by the time we left we were pretty much rolling out the door …
Pulling faces in the lift …
The view from the golf buggy ride back to the hotel from the restaurant …
Saturday morning Perry surprised me by letting me know we were off to Yas Waterworld for the day as an early Birthday treat … I blogged about that HERE … I really appreciated the gesture as its somewhere I’d wanted to go to since it opened … that and Perry isn’t the biggest fan of water parks so it was lovely of him to put up with it for me 🙂
The work week started off pretty normally for us over here … Perry has some fast approaching deadlines at work which has meant he’s been working late some nights … I did a monster food shop earlier in the week … and then had two marathon cooking sessions in the evenings stock piling a bunch of Homemade Freezer Ready Meals for those evenings where we really can’t be bothered to cook …
I’ll be sharing some of those recipes soon …
I found a really good deal on some Salmon so bought a whole bunch of it … its so yummy just simply grilled with some veggies …
Tuesday was my Birthday … and Perry woke up extra early (as in before 6am early!!!) to make me pancakes and tea for breakfast … I even got to eat them in bed with lots of honey … delicious 🙂 … they look a bit burnt in the picture but they weren’t actually burnt at all …
I also got a rather cute card from him too … “100% Chance of Happy” …
I had an early finish to my day as well that day … I had some administrative stuff to do so got to leave work early … always a bonus especially when its your birthday 🙂 … we also got to Skype my family that evening too … and I got to blow out my candles over Skype!
My Dad and Brother had big slices of cake for me on my behalf … we had another of my favourite food combinations for desert that night … Crushed Chocolate Meringues, with Pralines and Cream Ice Cream and topped with fresh Strawberries … so incredibly yummy … although it was a bit of a sugar overload at the end of it … totally worth it!
Tonight we are out with friends Terri and Cliff for dinner at Seafire in the Atlantis … which we are looking forward too … both the restaurant gets great reviews and we haven’t had a chance to catch up with Terri and Cliff in a long time … so it will be great to see them …
We don’t have much lined up for the weekend so far … there are a few things we have to sort out … and some stuff I want to get sorted around the apartment … we have a raft of visitors headed our way shortly and so I’d like to get things a bit more organised around our apartment before they get here …
End of next week Perry’s Uncle Steve and his family will be over visiting us … he has two young girls who I am so excited to see .. I haven’t seen them since last summer and the youngest was only a week old last time I saw her … a couple days after they leave one of Perry’s close friends Paul arrives to stay for a week … and a couple weeks after that one of my best friends Harri will be over to stay for a week …
Now the weather is getting better the visitors are starting to roll in … it was much the same last year … I love it though … after the lull of the summer its great to be busy with visitors and to have some time to catch up with family and friends when they are over … we are both really looking forward to the next few weeks …
Till next time …
