Thursday’s Weekly Roundup … Busy Weekend & RAIN …

Ok everyone … its been a pretty busy few days this week … and some quiet ones in between … the weekend is starting to look really packed too … so looking forward to it … anyway … so heres a quick recap of what we got up over the last seven days … Oh and a very happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends in America celebrating today …

We had Mike and Adam over last weekend … so ended up doing a bunch of stuff with them … you can read about what we got up to on their FIRST DAY, BRUNCH, and POST BRUNCH DRINKS … by following the links if you missed the original posts …

We also did a trip to Aquaventure, Dubai Mall and the Cheesecake factory … I’ll be doing posts on these over the weekend … try and space them out abit and not overwhelm everyone with too many pictures at the same time …

It was a very indulgent weekend … and as the guys noted towards the end … Dubai wasn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think of Glutony and Food Indulgence … but it really can be … its actually a wonder that Perry and I aren’t the size of whales with the amount of amazing food here …

Anyway Monday we were back at work again … and the next couple days were relatively uneventful … catching up on household chores and TV shows etc … Perry’s been abit hectic at work lately so he’s been having a few late nights … consequently we havent really done much during the week …

This morning I was totally taken by surprise when we pulled out of the car park on a wet road … and after a few seconds noticed it was still raining … Perry thought I was rather odd getting all excited about the rain … but I do … it reminds me of home … and its actually quite nice when it happens here … not that its very often … and this morning’s rain was the worst we’d seen since we’ve moved here …

Grey rain heavy clouds over JLT …

It was really dark this moring … mostly from the clouds … and the roads were really slick with the rain … drivers here arent used to driving in rain and so everyone really slows down on the roads … (kinda like what happens in the UK when it snows) …

But it seems the rain was confined to the Marina/Jebel Ali area of Dubai cause we’d soon driven out of it … made a change actually using the wipers to wipe away the rain rather than the layers of sand that accumilate on the windscreen …

So plans for the weekend are as follows … this evening I think Perry and I will be heading over to the cinema … depending on what time he gets home from work … otherwise it may have to be left for a different night …

Then Friday morning we’re meeting up with a friend over at the Yacht Club for some breakfast before heading off to the DP Wold Tour Dubai Championship Golfing day at the Jumeirah Golf Estates course …

Saturday morning we’ve planned to go visit our friends Stef and Bas for breakfast … their twin girls were born about a month a go … and I’m really looking forward to seeing the little girls for the first time … we have to get back to the Marina by lunch time as I have my ENT Dr’s appointment and a bunch more errands to run before heading off to the Golf again for the afternoon …

Also as were off to Oman next weekend for a 5 day trip to Muscat … we have a few things to finish planning for that journey too … You can see everywhere here is gearing up for the National Day weekend next week …(we’re getting out of the country and making the most of the extended weekend by going on holiday) …

Add to that all the regular errands and stuff we have to do … and its looking to be a pretty packed few days … oh and I have to find time to go and pick up the disposable photos from Dubai Mall at some point too … so much to do … so little time …

Wishing you all a wonderful end to the week …

Have a lovely weekend …

Till next time …
